Mexico Coffee Farm
Alma de Chiapas is an umbrella cooperative serving as an incubator for groups of smallholder farmers in the highlands of Chiapas and Oaxaca, Mexico. Operating under Fair Trade certification, Alma de Chiapas strengthens its member groups in business, finance, and quality management — with the goal of graduating them to become direct, independent members of Impacto Transformador, a broader social impact organization.
Alma de Chiapas is made up of 599 farmers — 490 men and 109 women — cultivating 1,654 hectares of land. This cooperative model ensures that even the smallest producers have access to the resources, training, and market connections needed to thrive in specialty coffee.
Our Mexico coffee is sourced from the Chiapas and Oaxaca regions, grown at 900–1,000 meters on clay mineral soils. The Typica, Criollo, Bourbon, Mundo Novo, and Caturra varieties are fully washed and sun-dried, producing a medium roast with notes of chocolate, cinnamon, and green apple.
