Colombia
In 2003, a small group of farmers in the municipality of Planadas came together with a shared conviction: that the foothills of the Cordillera Central could produce something worth paying attention to. Twenty-plus years later, Cafe del Macizo's 59 lifetime growers are still proving it — sharing knowledge, sharing resources, and sending coffee into the world that carries the character of the land they've worked together.
That land sits between 1,500 and 2,100 meters, where the altitude slows the cherry's development and concentrates its sugars. The Caturra, Castillo, and Typica varieties are fully washed and sun-dried — a process that keeps the cup clean and bright, letting the bean's natural complexity come through without interference. The result is a medium roast with rounded body, medium acidity, and notes of dark chocolate, mango, and peach. Graded Excelso EP — one of Colombia's highest export classifications.
Some coffees taste like a place. This one tastes like a community.
