Alma de Chiapas operates as something rare in specialty coffee: an incubator cooperative. Rather than simply pooling resources, it actively trains its member groups in business, finance, and quality management — with the explicit goal of graduating them to become direct, independent members of Impacto Transformador, a broader social impact organization. It’s a cooperative designed to make itself less necessary over time, which is a remarkable thing to build.

The cooperative brings together 599 farmers — 490 men and 109 women — cultivating 1,654 hectares across the highlands of Chiapas and Oaxaca. Grown at 900–1,000 meters on clay mineral soils, the Typica, Criollo, Bourbon, Mundo Novo, and Caturra varieties are fully washed and sun-dried, producing a medium roast with notes of chocolate, cinnamon, and green apple — warm, approachable, and quietly complex.

Built to grow. Roasted to enjoy.
