High in the Rwenzori Mountains, where the air thins and the equatorial sun moves slowly across volcanic soil, more than 500 families tend their plots with the kind of care that only comes from ownership. Each farmer in the Busongora North Coffee Farmers' Cooperative holds a share in what they grow — and a unique identification number that traces every bean back to the land it came from. This isn’t just traceability for its own sake. It’s the foundation of a longer vision: equipping growers with the knowledge and resources to be self-sustaining, generation after generation.

The coffee itself reflects that deliberateness. Grown at 1,500–2,000 meters on volcanic soil, the SL28 and SL14 varieties are fully washed at centralized stations in Kajole, Kithoma, and Kaswa — then dry milled in Kasese before export. The altitude and washed process produce a cup that’s clean and measured: mild acidity, light body, with notes of floral, chocolate, and dark fruit that reveal themselves quietly.

Some coffees announce themselves. This one earns your attention.
